Kanpeki Tonkatsu delivers an incredible Japanese comfort food experience, with every dish prepared to perfection. The katsu is freshly made, golden brown, and wonderfully crispy on the outside, with tender, juicy meat inside that makes every bite satisfying. The curry is rich, aromatic, and full of flavor, with a savory depth that pairs beautifully with the crispy cutlet and fluffy white rice. The noodles are cooked perfectly, with just the right texture and consistency, making them a standout part of the meal. The potato croquette is another highlight, with a crunchy, beautifully fried exterior and a soft, creamy potato filling that practically melts in your mouth. Every component feels thoughtfully prepared, from the crisp breading to the flavorful sauces and fresh garnishes. Kanpeki Tonkatsu is definitely worth visiting if you appreciate authentic Japanese flavors, quality ingredients, and comforting dishes executed exceptionally well.
Oct 16, 2026 · Google ReviewThere’s plenty of parking in the plaza. It’s in the same plaza as Regal Theatre, so we decided to stop by for dinner after a movie on a whim. It was around 8 PM on a Thursday night, and the place was pretty empty. There were only two occupied tables including us. The service was simple but friendly. Since it’s a tonkatsu place, most of what we ordered was fried: - Mentai Cheese Stick: It was okay. I mostly tasted the cheese rather than the cod roe, and it was a bit salty. - Chicken Katsu - Shrimp Katsu - Pork Katsu Because most of our order consisted of katsu dishes, the flavors started to blend together a bit. There wasn’t a huge difference in taste between the chicken and pork katsu. The restaurant itself is clean and has separate booth seating, which gives a nice sense of privacy. The food was good, but not quite as impressive as I hoped for from a tonkatsu-focused restaurant. Quality-wise, it felt more like a high-quality fast food chain rather than a traditional Japanese restaurant specializing in tonkatsu. The meat and shrimp quality were decent but fairly average overall. Nothing to really complain about, but also nothing especially memorable or rave-worthy.
May 19, 2026 · Google ReviewI highly recommend their $10 lunch special! It’s an amazing value, and the food is just as impressive as the price. My son usually refuses to try new foods, but after having Japanese curry here for the first time, he absolutely loved it. He kept asking to come back for more curry after we got home! The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was spotless. It’s hard to find a lunch this good at this price in Johns Creek. We’ll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jun 30, 2026 · Google ReviewOur favorite spot for a quick dinner in Duluth. Kanpeki has the crispiest and freshest katsu I've had in the whole city. They serve it alongside a breadth of mouth watering appetizers and sides. If you're looking for a midprice option for a night out, I can't recommend them enough. The addition of matcha salt at the table is the cherry on top of an already fantastic meal.
Aug 5, 2026 · Google ReviewWe ordered potato salad, mentaiko cheese spring rolls, and regular tonkatsu. Potato salad is a TINY scoop especially for paying additional $3. It’s like 3 bites. Would much rather pay more for bigger portion. Mentaiko Cheese spring rolls was barely mid. Cabbage salad had way too much sauce. We asked for a refill with less sauce to mix with the overly sauced one and it was still extra saucy. Tonkatsu and miso soup was good. Overall it’s a little pricey in my opinion.
